Been a little while since the last time I posted, been busy with life, and now I have tonsillitis, so I'm having trouble doing anything too serious. Anyway, I've been doing a lot of building using the Lego Digital Designer program, which is a god send for anyone looking for a cheap way to design Legos. Doesn't beat the real thing, but it's a great way to explore design techniques.
So 2016, is a massive year for the Republic of Ireland, as it's the 100th anniversary of the Easter Rising, which laid the ground work for the eventual Irish civil war, and the Irish Free State, or Saorstát Éireann. I certainly celebrate this, despite my family being from Ulster in Northern Ireland, and being fiercely loyalist. Why? because I believe that one day Ireland will be unified completely, and then it won't matter that my family is from Belfast, because Belfast will be a part of Ireland. As for loyalism to the queen, well that will never go away, because I am Canadian, which acknowledges the queen as head of state and monarch of the British Commonwealth. It's a bit of a contradiction I know, but I must acknowledge both sides of my heritage, not just the Irish, but also the English, and the Scottish, and the Canadian; God Save The Queen.
